GPS Image Tracker

The HD-SR1 comes with some software to sync up photos to GPS logs. From reading, the claim is that this is in a standard NMEA log format (which is captured straight from a GPS.) Since I geocache, this could be a pretty cool feature. I'm using GPS Tuner which can capture a NMEA log. Unfortunately, the GPS Image Tracker would not read the file. After beating my head against the wall for a while, I finally found someone who showed the format from the Sony CS1 logger that this software was made for. The sony log file appeared to be standard- except for a header line:

@Sonygps/ver1.0/wgs-84

I added this line to my GPS Tuner NMEA log file- and it was happily accepted by the GPS Image Tracker program. I'll upload some actual picture to log mappings when I get a chance.

Sony HD-SR1

Well, I did it. I pulled the trigger on a new camcorder. The Sony HD-SR1. I still need to get my old digital 8s fixed, as well, but eventually I was going to need something new. I'll put my impressions, tips, tricks, etc., here- so that someone else may be able to get some good from it.
